Conde de los Andes, two years of successes

More accolades for our Ollauri (Rioja) winery

Conde de los Andes is going through a highly successful period. The brand is gaining visibility on a daily basis and receiving numerous awards; the wines are becoming more popular and increasing their market share and its wine tourism programme is committed to offer prestige and exclusivity.

We have managed to achieve all of this in barely two years since the doors of the winery in Ollauri opened to visitors and we launched the first wines made by Muriel Wines at the present stage.

We have compiled a chronology as a summary of our achievements over the past months. The wines and our tourism programme, the two areas that enhance our brand, are highlighted.

1. September 2016: Luis Gutiérrez, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate critic, tastes the two wines of the first vintage. He gives 91 Parker points to the 2013 white and 92 Parker points to the 2013 red.

2. November 2016: The 2013 red wins a Gold Medal at Rioja Masters, a competition organized by British wine trade publication The Drinks Business. Members of the jury included Sarah Jane Evans MW, Patrick Schmitt MW, Clément Robert MS, Agustín Trapero, José González Godoy and Jonathan Pedley MW.

3. December 2016: US publication Wine Spectator awards 91 points to the 2013 red. Thomas Matthews reviews this score.

4. April 2017: Michael Schachter, taster of Spanish wines for Wine Enthusiast, the prestigious US publication, awarded 92 points to the 2013 red.

7. October 2017: The winery receives the Best Of Award to the Best Sustainable Wine Tourism Practices in the Bilbao-Rioja region. Organized by the Great Wine Capitals network, this award entitles the holder to take part in the international final (see point 9).

8. November 2017: Rioja Masters 2017, organized by The Drinks Business, recognises Conde de los Andes Tinto 2013 with the greatest distinction: the Rioja Master Award. Such a relevant achievement places our winery among the top Rioja brands in the UK.

9. November 2017: after the Best Of Regional Award (see point 7), the winery managed to obtain the Best Of Global Award. At the Great Wine Capitals Network gala, held on November 9 in Valparaíso (Chile), we took the stage to pick up the prize that reinforces us on our commitment to an exclusive, sustainable and quality focused wine tourism programme.

We hope to keep our readers informed of any new achievements that make us particularly proud of Conde de los Andes.
