A passion for Conde de los Andes
Positive feedback helps us obtain the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence
Our visitors speak their minds
After being awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence again this year, we wanted to find out what our visitors say about us. Since we launched the tours to visit the old cellars or 'calaos' in Ollauri at the end of 2015, there has been an influx of positive feedback and encouraging messages. Beyond the impressive space, the extraordinary professionalism of our wine-tourism team makes the visit truly unforgettable. In addition, we end the tour on a high with a tasting of Conde de los Andes wines.

Excellent tour and wines in La Rioja - "Best of Wine Tourism" indeed!?
We took an English speaking tour with Cristina and one of her colleagues and this was by far one of the best wine experiences we have ever had ?and we live near Napa/Sonoma and have been to Burgundy several times! Cristina was a wonderful host and we were made to feel very welcome from the very start. We descended into the very extensive caves which have been restored and kept up beautifully. You are painted a picture of the rich history of the region as you pass by literally thousands of bottles of wine. We stopped in one of the caves and she opened up a 2005 Gran Reserva which was magnificent. During the tour, we learned so much about the wines of the Rioja region and Spain from Cristina. At the conclusion, we were served a beautiful plate of Iberian ham with some biscuits and had the opportunity to try the flagship red and white wines ?both superb. But seriously, the Conde de los Andes Rioja white made with the Viura grape had to be one of the absolute best white wines I have ever had the pleasure to taste. We were not going to bring any wine home from this visit, but could not resist this one.

A must visit Bodega in La Rioja?
Upon the recommendation of the hotel we were staying in (Hotel Palacio Tondón), we made a booking for an English speaking tour of Conde de los andes in the beautiful village of Ollauri. Hands down, this was the best recommendation we could have been given as we had no idea of the historic nature of the Bodega and its extensive underground cave network! Our tour guide, Elizabete, was an exceptional host and as it is low season in La Rioja, we were the only people on the tour, so essential it was private. This meant me and my friend were able to get to know Elizabete and the wines, like we were visiting a friend's home. The highlight of the tour had to be in the candlelight cave, where candles were lit and table was set for us with snacks and she opened a dusty bottle from the private collection of the owners, which was such a unique and memorable experience. I was completely blown away and touched by the gesture. The tour ended with some more tastings and lovely long chat with Elizabete, she truly made the whole experience wonderful and gave us some invaluable tips on places to eat in Logroño! This is a must visit Bodega in La Rioja!

Loved this Bodega?
We were exploring Rioja and found a review of this gem online. It was one of the better wine tours that I ever done and in my opinion Rioja is working extra hard to establish themselves as a more visible Enoturismo location. There was only 4 of us on the tour and amount of information and time spent with us was extremely generous. I do not remember the name of the young lady who was our guide but she was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and clearly loves her job.?Between the four of we were given some snacks along with 2 bottles to try but highlight was her opening a very old bottle in one of the cellars and us sharing. Extremely intimate and wine was fantastic. If you are in the area, well worth the visit.

Outstanding cellar and visit?
The visit to the wine caves was absolutely worth it. We had a great guide (Cristina) who handed us vests to make sure that we were not cold, and gave us a really interesting and personal view of the wine and the area. The wine tasting was one of the best we had in the region, with plenty of wine and good cold meats.?The caves (calados) are massive, and they hold some excellent wine from old vintages. The history of the place and its atmosphere was very hard to beat during our three days in La Rioja.
