A few months ago, in this same blog, we talked about the famous lookout known as Balcón de La Rioja.
In this article we move to another of those high points that dot the Riojan geography and which we already feel proper, since they help us understand our territory. It is the highest part of our large estate on the foothills of Sierra de Yerga. From here we can see the entire Ebro valley. Along the way, the view extends from the municipality of Calahorra to the limits of Tudela, already in Navarra. Wide, the panorama can have a real impact: in the clearest days, behind the banks of the great Ebro, the sight crosses more than a hundred kilometers to arrive to a snowy range: the Navarrese Pyrenees!
It is not very common to see this mountain range, because normally the mists of the valley themselves blur the landscape. We have not yet found the perfect day to portray the panorama in all its splendor. Some dat we'll have the opportunity for sure. For the moment, we publish here some images taken through our first year in Yerga. Pictures suggest the evocative power of this high place in eastern Rioja. Imagine now stepping on those slopes of vineyard, oak and cereal, those arid lands beaten by the wind, under a sun that is already distinctly Mediterranean.
If you want to know more about our Yerga estate and about the history of the place, we invite you to recover this interesting article that we published last autumn.
